Charlie Chaplin's 29th Released Oct. 26 1914

The story involves Chaplin and Chester Conklin working as waiters at a restaurant where the cooks go on strike. When the two are forced to work as bakers, the striking cooks put dynamite in the dough, with explosive results.

Dough and Dynamite was one of two Charlie Chaplin films that were to be shown at a special event in September, 2001. However, in the light of 9/11, it was taken off the list of films as it ends with Charlie walking out of a blown up building.

Subject: Half a Film
This is only one reel of a two-reel comedy released in 1914. The second half of the story concerns the striking bakers inserting a stick of dynamite in a half-baked loaf of bread, in order to sabotage the bakery, and Charlie and Chester Conklin flirting with the waitresses. The second reel is funnier and more coherent than the first, so it's a shame that we only have the first reel here.

Subject: to be serious: a bad one
This film is not funny and the music has nothing to do with the film itself. The plot is quite boring and the end is missing. There are much better films of Charlie Chaplin than this one.
